2006 Explorer - On Lot Yet?

Is the new 06 Explorer out yet? If not, when does it come out? My mom is looking for a new company car and wants to test drive the new Explorer but I'm not quite sure when it's going to be here. Thanks

The '06 models will likely start to show up within the next 4-6 weeks. Late August all the way into September is when most new models arrive. That's not definate by no means though. Some of the surrounding dealers here in Hickory,NC already have some '06 Super Duties. But that's a general idea on arrival date.

Other than the grille changes, is the '06 Explorer really any different under the skin than the '05?

It has an all-new interior and some functional/mechanical changes, but mostly it's just a rehashed '05.

They are on the lots here in southern Indiana the new grill is going to take some getting use to.

If there is no real difference, you can get a better deal on an '05. That would be my route..

the 06s have alot of canges from the 05s..new 6 speed auro tranny on the v8s..the v8s now have more power. whole new interiors..they re-did the IRS..alot of other changes also..new hatch,tails front clip..lots of other stuff.
