That's what I got from Ford while at the meet in Louisville. There was apparently some thought about developing the global Ranger for sale in the US, but they dropped those plans. The Ford rep at the farm on Friday assured me that Ford would have some sort of a small pickup truck. Only Ford knows what it will look like.

I bought the ST to replace my Ranger. I bought my extended cab Ranger with the 4.0 new in 1994 and gave it to my dad in 2007 when I bought the ST. He is still driving it with 230k miles on it.
Ford is such idiots! There is a huge, loyal fan base of Ranger owners out there that would love to have a 4 door version. If they had one, I wouldn't have batted an eye and would have just gone to the dealership and bought one! I like the ST, but miss my Ranger and the 6 foot bed I had with it!
