ok i had my a/c serviced yesterday and today i drove to Delaware, the A/C was working fine.

i opened the windows for awhile and when i turned it back on it was hardly blowing.

the fan was on high and i could hear it but almost nothing from the vents. i made a stop for about a 1/2 hour and when i got back in the a/c was fine cold and blowing hard from the vents.

any idea what would cause it?

if the AC never acted like it did in your posting, then yes, take it back as they did something wrong. Sounds like the unit froze up due to low freon, and they were supposed to "service it" so it would work properly.

When you had the fan on HI, was any air coming out the vents, even warm/hot air??

no to out the defroster. it was ice cold out of the vents before i shut it off, when i turned it back on you can hear the fan down by the passenger side floor going like crazy. but it was hardly coming out the vents. the center console vents for the rear seats were working fine the whole time.

it was after i parked for about a half hour that all was fine again.

Sounds like the blend door or direction door was stuck and it came free..... The vacuum switch on the dash could be going bad, but I would bed the door was stuck..

The temperature blend door actuator went bad on mine, but it was in the winter so i don't know how it would affect the a/c. I got it from Torrie (sponsor) for a great price. A little hard to get under there to replace but I got it done and now works great.

Your problem was probably due to whatever the did or didn't do while servicing the a/c. Not every mechanic in every shop is HVAC certified. They may know how to add freon and look for a leak but may not be checking high side/ low side pressure and all that. Just my 2 cents, I'm not a pro either.

Check the vacuum lines connected to the AC control unit under the hood. I knocked one small hose off the control unit when installing a wire. It sounds similar to what my AC was doing.
