Hey so I hear a humming come from my air filter area when my car is on and the A/C is off. Then when I turn on the A/C the humming goes away. I've read on previous posts that it could be the A/C clutch fan or what not. But my A/C is fine, its ice cold and blowing out strong so could there still be a problem?

If it were a problem just starting with your AC clutch, you would here the humming when you when you turn the AC on. Not when you turn it off. If it were the compressor bearings, it would be all the time.

Ok so heres more information on what its doing when the car is on.

Park (A/C off): Humming and Howling

Park (A/C off): no noise

Drive (A/C on or off): no noise

I only notice it when the car is in Park so i don't know what that is all about

It sounds like the surpentine belt idler pulley. It can hum and squeal however when you put a heavier load on the belt by turning on the AC, it stops the harmonic hum.

It's probably just showing the signs of going bad. It could also just be a bad belt, depending upon how old the belt is.
