All:

I'm about to buy the truck I have been looking for with all the specific options I've been looking for.

Specs:

07 ST Limited, V8, rear power window, leather, 18's, Trailer Towing, 4WD, Silver, 32k...I'm at 24k...IS this a fair price? I think it's a bit on the high side but I rather pay a little more then continue to shop and spend time...It's emotion at this point but I need a sounding board to make sure I am not nuts.

Thank you.

i just traded in my 07 xlt on friday. the basicis: 4wd - v-6 - 17in wheels, heated windshield, rear window, tonneau cover, message center, cd6/mp3 stereo, keyless entry with 34 k on it. they gave me $20,800.

hope this helps

Thanks Fast Eddie and kcobra for the quick responses...I am on information overload as I have been on edmunds, NADA, etc., etc. and depending on site the variance is 1k to 3k as to actual worth...also did an ebay searcg for completed items...

Kcobra - you have a Cobra?

frank,

i had a 07 lmtd V-8 with from what i remember about 43k miles on it when i sent to auction in january of this year. it was fully loaded, nav, rear dvd, everything except power pedals.

it sold at auction for just under 18K :(

imo, i would pay no more then 20k for it.

good luck

Gary...wow, that was not great...you sold it privately at an auction?

Prices I have seen on this model - Limited, V8, 4WD are no were near 20k...I know you can always negotiate but not sure I can go from 24-25k to 20k...maybe I am mistaken.

Bigger problem is there are very few used Limited, V8's out there at least in the North East.

frank,

mine was my company vehicle. i turned it in at lease end and it went to auction at southern auction in connectiuct. they are one of the largest in the northeast. the winning bidder was a ford dealer in rhode island. i spoke with them and they were very impressed with the condition and did acknowledge they got it for a great price. they sold it in a week, but would not tell me how much.

i still feel that 20k is still about how much you should pay. and yes, there are few used loaded gen2's v-8 lmtd's out there. depreciation on these are not the best and you have to look that it is a 3 year old vehicle.

go with your feeling, but 24k-25k is to much imo.

good luck

they sold it in a week, but would not tell me how much.

They were thikig "What a sucker!" when they sold it for $23K.

Dealers make a killig selling used cars.

Tom

Gary, you in CT? I'm in Milford....so, moral of the story is 24k is way to much...so I guess I have to really bargain with these dealers as I see it from this post...

i have a 78 mustang II king cobra. a few pics in my gallery.

not enough cash flow for a shelby or a roadster replica.

good luck with the new st. i pick up mine tomorrow.

Frank. I have a 2008 V8 Limited. 4WD with about 17,000 miles on it. It is silver, with leather interior, sunroof, towing package, power rear window. It also has the Ford hard tonneau cover. I purchased it in July 2008, so it still has the factory warranty. Would you be interested in it for 24,500k ? I have been thinking of buying a F150, as I need the larger rear bed. I am located in Queens,NY.

frank,

i live on eastern long isle.

i use southern auction just north of hartford. they have done very good for me with my toyota's in my fleet.

offer them 20k and walk away. tell them to call you when they decide. believe me, it will be there awile at that asking price.

again, hope you find one

Gary, I know we all want to pay the least we can for anything and I am no different BUT that being said, honestly what do you think a reasonable price for an 07 Limited, V8, 4WD...lets assume the dealer has to make a "reasonable profit"?

i am not sure what your area is bringing in for used vehicles. i would say up here, probably could be had for 23,000 - 24,000.

my trade will stay on the lot and will be stickered at 23,750. its a clean truck but i would guess they will get around 22,500.

frank,

believe me, they are making a good profit. if i got just 18k at auction, i am sure the dealer sold it for at least 21k. probably more since it had everything and was in unbelievable mint condition.

i kinda' miss it. i was reminded of that at the long isle meet last weekend.

here is another pic a few weeks before i said goodbye.

No problem Frank. I just figured I'd put it out there for you. Good luck on your search and hopefully Gary's advice will save you some $.

Cobra, what ST you getting this time?

I think I'm going to go down to Steven's on Monday and see what they say about finding me an 07...I'd like to see for comparison what a loaded 10' Limited, V8 would cost...

Gary - I guess I have to be patient but like I said the Limited V8's, 4WD and rear power windows are tough to find...The one I found is just south of the Catskills...

frank,

then go for it. just offer lower.

i deal with dowling toyota in litchfield. they also have a ford dealer as well. i can call and ask if anything is available in the area. let me know.
