MY ABS light is on, sometimes it goes off and when i press the brake it flutters lightly, like the abs is working, but on dry pavement then the light kicks back on again? i checked the wire near the ebrake bracket that someone posted but everything was fine 2001 job2 with 108k on the clock...any suggestions without dealer involvment

I see you live in NY, which is a high-corrosion state, as far as salt applications

on the road during wintertime.

I would check the reluctor rings on the front rotors, and the pick-up sensors

for excessive corrosion/contamination. This could be sending a false signal

to the ABS control module, prematurely activating your ABS.

Ford has already acknowleged that this is a problem in some northern states

such as Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Connecticut, New York, etc...

I have that problem, I live in Buffalo, and the ABS system will pulse when im just coming to a stop like from 2mph-0...its scary because i almost hit a car a few times because your not expecting it....I just pulled the fuse on the ABS and now the lights on all the time, but i have a lot more peace of mind with stopping...I don't know how much it would cost to fix, and i dont have it.
