For some reason my AC compressor keeps kicking on and off when I am at an idle. My AC is cold and seems to work fine except for this issue. Any ideas?

It is called Thermo-Cycling, or Pressure Radiated Cycling. If you have cold A/C,

blower works fine, etc... this is a normal design element in the system to keep the

temperature and the pressure in the system within normal operating specs...

All should be fine...

Sorry to beat a dead horse but like my sport trac the AC compressor clicking on and off again every 20seconds is just not normal.. is it? I cannot stand it and it is very loud...

Josy, IF all your settings are off, fan on low and the dial on the right is straight up and down, your low on freon... The compressor will cycle if the dial on the right is on any setting..

The compressor doesn't operate when the control is in the Off, Vent only, or Floor only positions.
