A friend of the family that works for Ford HQ told me today the Sport Trac and Sport Trac Adrenalin is dead in 2011. No plans for a refresh or redesign are in the works are even a thought at this point. The new Explorer program will be based off of the D3 platform (current Taurus), unibody, and based off the Explorer America Crossover concept and is in development. Powertrain will remain the same. The Ranger will be extended to 2011 as well. The P525 program, ie F100, will replace the Sport Trac in mid 2011/2012. Will carry most if not all the front, tailgate, and interior metal as the F150 expect for a few changes to the frame with a F100 supercharged 400-500hp model being offered.

He even told me Louisville will begin building small cars from the "global platform"

He thinks its confirmed but nothing is 100% confirmed until Mulally says so.

Yay,

There may be a chance for me to buy a smaller capible truck and not IRS that you can not lift or lower without spending thousands of dollars.

I've been saying they should bring back the f100 as a slightly bigger then the ranger/old st but still a real truck for a long time.

The primary reason I bought a Sport Trac was because it had four doors. I sure hope the new F100 will have a 4-door option. 2011 is about the time I'll been trading.

By the time 2011 gets here, our trucks will prob be illegal to drive on the street with the way things are going. :(
