Anti lock brakes

Anti lock brakes engage in dry conditions. Can anyone help me on what may be causing this?

2 or 4 wheel drive? Front or rear? All the time or just almost stopped?

4wd. It happens when i am in 2 wheel drive.

It is the front when i am almost stopped. It happens about 75%

of the time. Thanks

You've described the exact symptoms of a bad abs sensor in one of the front wheels of a 4WD. It is a very common problem.



The solution is to replace the hub. It is possible as a do-it-yourself project. If you have experience replacing brake rotors, there's not much more involved with this job.

Try removing and cleaning the ABS probe and checking for any build up . If it pulls one way, its the opposite sensor.

I bet it is a bad hub bearing, But it could also be the rear sensor.......
