I am currently siding my house. (doing it myself, long story) Anyway, I need to know if they make a Vinyl decorative trim for around the garage doors and entrance doors. If so, what is it called exactly so I don't sound like a complete moron when I call the lumber yard tomarrow. I am going to use coil stock to cover the wood on the inside of the door but want something besides wood for the trim. Any suggestions? If I'm not specific enough I'm sorry. I'm a x-ray tech, not a builder. I'm actually happy with what I've been able to accomplish so far. (pretty much the whole house is sided and now hopefully this weekend I will finish with the soffet and facia, about 3 months work so far since all I can do is work on it in my free time) I'll try to post pics when I get it finished. I don't envy anyone who does this for a living. You guys are tops in my book.;)

Mine is just covered with coil stock with caulking at the junction with the brick. There is a matching colored trim piece/weather stripping sealing around the door.

Gavin, I have the vinyl weatherstriping, i'm going to coilstock the wood board, i'm looking for the trim that goes on the outside part of the frame. It looks like trim that you put around doorways on the inside of the house. Thanks.;)

Mine is just the coil stock folded down and butted up to the brick, with a bead of caulk between it and the brick. There is no trim other than the strip of weather stripping.

I'm not in the building trade (but I did completely gut my kitchen and rebuild), anyway, I would guess they would call it a vinyl brickmoulding (like the wood counterpart) or vinyl quarter round.

Chops, thanks, you are right. My brother-in-law had told me that before nut I couldn't for the life of me remember what he called it. It's brickmoulding. Thanks again.;)
