They are not "plinkers". If you feel the need to shoot someone 75 feet away from you, then you deserve to go to jail for murder.

These gus are perfect for personal protection as a back-up pistol or as a primary weapen when ultimate concealment is needed. I work with a bunch of guys that carry a full size pistol along with four 17 round magazines loaded.

Not me. A little something is much better than alot of nothing.

A 4 inch spread at 15 feet means the other guy still has a chance to put one in you. Granted, you don't have time in most situations to take a good aim and stance, so the more accurate the gun is , the better your chances.

I wasn't flaming you Caymen, I just believe in accuracy and lots of practice.

I doubt I would feel 15 feet is justifiable. 6 feet, or so...sure.

If somebody is running at me with a knife in a threatening manner the only 6 feet they are going to get is 6 feet under.

Caymen - your posts never cease to amaze me. Every time you post something about guns you always show how unknowledgeable you really are.

It takes approx the same amount of time to draw and point (not aim) for an attacker with a knife to get within striking distance starting from 20 ft away.

Why are you guys giving Caymen a hard time?

He simply asked if anyone wanted a comparison. If you do, then chime in.

I'm sure Caymen is simply trying to be helpful, and share accurate, unbiased information and in no way is trying to play any games or bait people.

Distance is only relative when it comes to the "articulation" as to how you justify your actions.

If the guy is at 25 feet with a broomstick and you shoot him, you better be a very good writer.

Same guy at 5 or 6 feet, the justification is much easier to assume that it was probable that you truly were in fear of your life.

Same guy at 25 feet and now he has a gun, you will once again be in a fairly easy position to justify your actions.

Bottom line, if they have the means, motive and opportunity, that is when you can act. If even one of the three is missing, it is the difference from a justifiable shooting (Self defense, the protection of others) vs. Murder...

Anyone who owns a firearm can tell you which is the best gun to own or buy, but only for themselves. It's good to seek information from individuals who offer it and read as much as possible about different firearms. Plain and simple, all things being equal with a quality made weapon, the one that you can shoot accurately and have confidence in is the one you should carry.

Some things to consider:

Accuracy is everything. If you can't put the bullet within a 3 inch column on the target you are aiming at, at the distance you chose, you are better served seeking cover.

A handgun is a defensive weapon.

Don't use or consider a auto/pistol unless you are very, I said VERY

experienced in emergence action drills. If you can't perform some emergency actions in less that 2 sec. your auto/pistol is better used as a very expensive throwing device.

It takes about 2,000 repetitions for physical actions to become natural.

Depending on where a individual is shot it can take up to 3 sec for the body to react to being shot. A lots of return shots can be made in 3 sec. Hence the need for accuracy.

In a handgun fight learn one thing. SERPINTINE

Redfish.

That's good info, but you hit another of my pet peeves.

You say that "accuracy is everything."

Really?

If it's truly "everything" then I guess thatks all you need in a gun? Is accuracy more important than reliability? I'd say the most accurate gun in the world that misfires a lot is less valuable than a less accurate gun that fires all the time.

I'm not a gun guy, I just like to point out the fallicy in speaking in and dealing in absolutes.

Thanks for the info, though. I'm pretty sure I understand what you were trying to say.

If I didn't know better I wouid say the above guns are made by the same mfgr and rebranded and sold as different models by different sellers...

... Or maybe they are meant to be almost identical in look, size, dimensions, orientation and placement of elements. Maybe one is a copycat?

But then, as I said, I don't know handguns. My pee-pee is big enough and I make enough to live in a safe neighborhood....now that is troll bait.

Side note,,,

Smaller hand-guns are more traditionally a point a shoot type weapon. Not to say they are not accurate, just by the nature of their design, they are more suited fro close range applications. Many of the smaller hand-guns don't even have front and rear sights, which emphasizes their application even more.

You are of course correct. As I state "all things being equal with a quality made weapon".

A weapon should do at least two equally important thing. A bullet will come out of the barrel when the trigger is pulled. A bullet will not come out of the barrel when the trigger is not pulled.

I no longer try to tune up my truck engine because I can't find the same parts as were on my 55 plymouth. My subliminal message
