I found this Trac on SocalCustoms.. I love the tailgate mod! I wonder what else is done to it.

Don't know whose this is, but I have seen this type of tailgate on a factory vehicle.I use to
work in Michigan at the Willow Run plant and we made a tailgate on the Chevy Caprice and
Buick Roadmaster Station Wagons that we called a "Drop-Swing" 'gate. It's all in the
latches. I can't fully explain the mechanicals of this marvel of technology, all I know
is it had two seperate handles inside the tailgate controlling two seperate latch mech-
anisms. You would pull up on one, the 'gate would drop, you pulled out on the other, the
'gate would swing out. The years were '90-'93.Maybe you can do some on line research
to see some photos. My guess is with a little retro-fitting and some welding, you, too,
could have this on your ST!!!(If you don't mind a factory G.M. part or two on your Ford!).

I had a 99 isuzu rodeo that had that kind of tailgate. it was annoying......lol

Ford did that on the mid-60's station wagons, full size and fairlane.

That is a friend of mine from Houston..Everyone knows them as the Holly Boys ..3 brothers in the truck scene and their last name is Holly..So it kinda stuck with them..Nice trac a friend of mine just painted it...That is about his wildest mod ..shaved tail lights ,no more door molding and led lights ..If look you will see the resemblance in the graphics ...same little bubbles in green ...

I'm pretty sure the Honda Ridgeline's tailgates are drop/swing.

It's a good start, still has some things to do that I'm sure is being worked on, was probably hoping to have it done for HeatWave, but we all know how deadlines are...Wheels are nice too, simple, and just about the perfect size when aired out.
