My '07 4x4 Limited I thought could make it through the winter before I had to buy tires, but today in the rain it seemed a little squirrelly at times and at traffic lights anted to spin too easily. I have just under 32k on the Michelin stock tires, and checking them after today revealed that I am down even with the wear indicators on all 4. They were rotated and pressure checked quite frequently. On my '01 the same tires made it to almost 50k I think, then I went to some Dueler Revos, and from there GoodYear Forteras. I loved the Forteras and would like to get a set for my '07, but there are so few choices for the 18" 07 wheels.. It is like you either get the Michelins (which normally I would love, but don't want to have to get new ones again before 60k) or you get a street tire. My '07 does stay on the road most of the time, however it has been known to traverse onto a trail or two when I visit my brother. I did get stuck with the Michelins and had to go home and get the tractor to pull me out... It is quite frustrating... Anyone have any suggestions as to any other tires that are not just a plain highway tire and would look decent on my ST??

Well I don't want to go any shorter on the height, as I think that they already look like the wheel wells are empty, by as far as the width goes, I have no idea on what will fi the stock size wheel. I have always bought my tires of of TireRack.com, and they aren't really helpful with finding tires that aren't OE size... What sizes do you think will fit on there??

235/65R18

255/60R18

275/55/18

These will all fit and be the same height as stock.

I went with the 275s. They're over an inch wider than stock, but the same height. Something tells me you don't want this type of tire, though...

Good example! That would be exactly the look if they were on my Trac (minus the black, mine is blue) but I have the Magnaflow as well. I like the look of them, but son't think they would do so well where I would take them. If I was on-road exclusive, they would be a good choice. Not too sure on how those would do in a little snow as well...

heh... Mine is also blue. VERY blue.

They're not designed for off-road, but I occaisionally go off the pavement and I've had no problems. It also snowed and sleeted last night. Again, no problems. If you live in Anchorage, I'd recommend against them, but they're pretty good overall. On pavement, hard to beat.

My only problem with the tripletread is... If you look at the tread, you'll notice that only about half of the tread actually makes contact with the road when the tires are new. The tread is "ramped." As it wears, it'll make more contact, but with my traction issues, it's just not feasible.

If it were me I would get the Goodyear Fortera Triple Tread. Top of the list on Tirerack.com.

This is also at the top of my list (As I had the Fortera (Silent Armor) on my '01 and loved them, but they just aren't in the stock size for the '07 with the 18" wheels. I beleive there are 5 to choose from on Tire Rack, 2 of which are Winter only, and another two that are Michelin Cross-Terrains, one black walled, and one with raised white letters.... :(

Dingo, Take a look at the traction ratings on Tire Rack and you will see that they are the highest rating in that catagory. I would like to see how the TOYO Proxis ST compares to the Triple Tread since you won't see a rating for them because Tire Rack does not sell them. I had the TOYO Open Country AT's when I had my 235/70/16's and because there max tire pressure is 35 lbs. they rode quite stiff, and some time later I found out that the Open Country AT's in a 255/70/16 has a max pressure of 44 lbs. I did not go with the 255/70/16 because I have the 3:73 rear end on our '01 w/ manual tranny. I am now running Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's that have a max pressure of 44 lbs. and I am happy with them because after almost 2 yrs. of running on them they show almost no wear. I hope that makes some kind of sense because I am tired going to bed.

I have already decided to get the 275/55's. Will get them this weekend sometime. Kaufmann Tire has a $75.00 off online coupon which lightens the hit.

Forgot to ask earlier...Andy, are you using any spacers?

Thanks.

No spacers.

Get a final out the door quote from Kauffman and tell me what it is. I basically stole mine from them and I could probably get the same deal for you. (I have a wholesale account with them.)
