Eddie,
I have never owned any Cooper Tires, but I have heard they make some very good tires.
There are a few tips to rememver when buying new tires...
1. Most Tire brands make a range of quality tires, from cheap junk to very expensive high-end tires.
2. Your opinion and satisfaction with the tires will differ from another person's because you may be judging a tire that was not matched to your driving requirements
ie: Performance tires will generally have very good traction, but the softer rubber will wear much faster. Harder rubber will give better mileage but often at the expense of wet weather traction. Highway tires often give a smoother quiet ride but have less traction in mud and snow. All Terrain tires with their more aggressive tread will have better traction in the mud and snow but may be noisy while driving on pavement at highway speeds. Some tires will make a compromise in an attempt to statisfy both extremes, and some brands do that better than others.
It might be better to ask what you are looking for in tire. I never took either of my two Sport Tracs off-road, and we hardly ever get snow in Central Texas. So I did not have any need for an aggressive tread and prefered the smoother, quieter ride of a street tire. I also like a tire with great wet weather traction, and that also plays more towards the street tire.
I ended up getting a set of Goodyear, rotation free AquaTread tires, that had different tread patterns for front and rear tires. That line of tires has since been replaced by the Goodyear Tripple-Tread designs. I put about 40K miles (in 4 years) on those tires and they more than exceeded my expectations. The tires showed very little signs of wear dispite never having them rotated (not required) I always had excellent wet weather traction and the tires were quiet riding on my Trac.
I am not recommending any make, model or brand of tire because I don't know what kind of driving you do, and what you are looking for in a tire.
