I have a 2002 ST and I occasionally carry a canoe, kayak, etc. on the roof. I have Yakima crossbars and footings that are great. The problem is that there is some flex in the factory plastic rails and I wanted to purchase some metal replacements for them. My current setup is perfect for what I need, however I heard/read once that the factory rails can only hold between 100 and 200 pounds but I really want to get one of those tents that you attach to your crossbars which lets you have a tent on your roof. If you haven't heard /seen it before, I've attached a link bellow. Thanks for looking at my post, please help me if you've seen anything out there about metal rails.
