GOVERNMENT VS. PRIVATE SECTOR

This past weekend's stop for the NASCAR circuit was the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Less than four months ago this facility was heavily damaged. Many structures including trackside condos and luxury suites, were completely destroyed, by a tornado. After the tornado passed some people expressed doubts as to whether or not the raceway would be ready to host this weekend's NASCAR event. As it turns out there was no reason to worry. The cleanup and reconstruction was handled by the private sector, not by government. No bidding processes burdened with the requirements of political correctness. No campaign contributors and political supporters to satiate. There were just two things to do: (1) Figure out what needs to be done. (2) Do it.

Meanwhile .... in New Orleans ......

Edit: There ya go, Buck. If you are familiar with my posts, I usually do give credit when quoting someone else. I was just busy and in a hurry when I originaly posted. Credit is now given to Mr. Boortz.:)

Jeff, doncha know size doesn't matter?

While AMS isn't as big as NO, or any other town destoryed by Katrina, it does bring up an interesting comparison. Without political BS, red tape, and people intrested in nothing else but gaining a profit from someone elses hardship, a lot can get done in a short period of time.

Kinda like today's unions...;)

Sorry, I had to.....hahah

Yep, the sure fired way to screw anything up is to let the government be in charge.

PS: you really should give Mr. Boortz credit (or anyone else for that matter) when posting their work word for word.

Actually, Atlanta Motor Speedway was the second largest city in GA over the weekend ! Little resemblance to the City of New Orleans tho....before, during or after the race.

Todd Z.... Couldn't have said it better....

Amazing what CAPITALISM and a lack of Government intrusion can do.

From the TV, AMS looked like nothing had happened. Can't wait to see how well they fix up Homestead as well... Wilma damage and all.
