Greetings all! For those of you who may remember me from my rantings a few weeks ago, I'm finally back home in beautiful Italy. I left Afghanistan on the 16th and have been busy getting ready for my big move to attend helicopter flight school in Alabama in October. Oh yeah....I also ordered my '05 ST as promised.

I got a XLT Premium w/ Dark Stone paint and 4WD. I had to take my pick from what was left in the military car exchange's stock, so options were limited, but I am pretty happy with what I'm getting. I need to order the tonneau cover from the dealer when I pick it up, and am already comparing shocks. I wish I could've got the up-graded audio package, but since the truck was already built, that wasn't an option. I did get the bed extender though. After the $2,000 rebate and Family Plan discount the price came to be $25,701.70. I figure that isn't too bad.

I need to know what is the website for Explorer parts, so I can start making my wish list....for sure some nice bug-guards will be in order, as will the rear sway bar everyone swears by. I'd also like to locate some of those cool black flame pin-stripes to apply on the sides. I saw a pic in the photo-gallery of a smooth-looking ST with those and really liked them. Don't remember who the owner was though.....too many pics too browse through.

Anyways, thanks to everyone who gave advice and offered assistance. I pray that, as my first NEW vehicle, this one will prove to be as reliable and trouble-free as many of you claim the ST can be. I considered waiting for the '06/'07, but I couldn't get a firm answer when they wil be offered for sale. Plus, I didn't really like the pics and photos of the new body-style too much.

I hope all is well in ST land and will try to drop in here more often. I'll post some pics in December, after I finish Warrant Officer Candidate School and get some down time. Cheers.

Welcome and good luck with the truck..

As far as parts... Try the sponsors link on the left side of the screen. Those are site sponsors that make this site happen...

Certain things you will have to outsource and can try Ebay for the other items..

Also the swap and sell section on the left also has some great deals..

Glad to hear you left Afghanistan already, safe and sound in Italy. Wishing you well for the WOCS, finishing with flying colors:D. Like what Todd Z posted, most of your initial ST wish can be supplied by the site sponsors, like SST for the stripes.

Your new trac is identical to the one I was looking at. I bought the black one and the stone one sold next day. Enjoy and post pics ;)

Congrats on the new truck and thanks for serving out country. I live relatively close to the flight school, and we see them flying over all the time. It's quite a sight to see a group of 6-10 "small" helicopters followed by 1-2 BlackHawks.

Reagal One....do you know a student named Warren dickenson? He just finished his instrument flying portion and is now in the simulator. I think he has been in IERW for about 5 months. Do you know which Ac you'll be flying yet? I'm shooting for Apaches, followed by Blackhawks and Chinooks.....I want to fly something that can shoot back!

Downunder Dan......thanks for not picking mine. I considered the black, but I really liked the Dark Stone. I think the black one had leather seats, which I don't like, also. I hope both of our new STs work out well in the end.

Thanks to all for the support. I've been jumping from planes and helos for almost 10 years now. I am looking forward to some non-deployable time after a year in Iraq and 6 months in Afghanistan. It'll be nice to actually get to fly something and land instead of jumping out and doing the good old Parachute Landing Fall.....:D

DeadlyDavy,

The pinstriping you are talking about are available by WebXtremes.com, a site sponsor. The guy who sells them here is SeattleSportTrac. I have them on my Trac and I love them but I'm taking mine off soon. The Explorer website is www.ExplorerExpress.com.

Hope this helps and Welcome!
