I know this has been a topic in previous threads, but I wanted to get some more input before I make a mistake . . . .

1) What is the best way to remove the OEM badges & glue residue without harming the paint? Should I do the hair dryer/fishing line/goo-gone method?

2) What is the best product for an "OEM-like" reapplication of the badges (without running/dripping glue)?

Thanks,

kevin

Kevin, not sure what you are removing but the "Sport Trac" badge on the tailgate is bolted on.

Thanks Bill

Les, I actually have OEM badges on my Acura that I need to replace, but I also plan to relocate my Adrenalin badge to replace the Sport Trac one. . . . Good thing you mentioned the bolts!

Uh-oh...

It was bad enough when we were getting off-topic posts located in the Sport Trac Board--but now we're getting Sport Trac posts in the Off-Topic Board! Will the madness never end???

The Sport Trac badge is NOT bolted on. It does, however have 2 holes behind it. Mine were welded in before paint.

3 holes, two for the locating pins and one in the middle, dime sized, for God knows what. #M double sided tape, trimmed to fit the badge/letters or manufacturer emblem. BC

You're right, it's three. For some reason I forgot the finger-eater. Doesn't it look better with a welder?

Andy, you're makin' me a bit envious here. I think this coming summer I'm gonna try to do the tailgate and the grill surround. I hate to be a copy cat, but yours looks the way I want it to. BC :haveabeer: :supercool:
