Hello,, I have an 07 ST, I have looked and looked for a bed extender. The ones that I have found, when I went to buy them from someone, would not fit in the bed. So yesterday I went up to OKC, OK and got one NIB from a guy who never used it in his 2007 ST. Still has the plastic on it and he gave me the owners manual. So, does anyone know why it would be that the dang bed extender wont fit, the pegs will not fit into the holes properly. I had an earlier model ST in the past (05) I think, and the pegs would fit perfectly. This one barely touches when flipped out... Im thinking the truck was wrecked in the past and maybe it has been replaced with a newer model bed, or maybe its bent or something. I cant understand why and 07 extender wont fit in an 07 bed... any ideas?

thanks

Since you said it was New In the Box and still wrapped in plastic, are you SURE, and absolutely positive, it is a 2007 extender? and not a Gen1 extender? Or maybe even an F150 extender?

I think I would try and find someone nearby who has an '07 with an extender to ask it you could try your new one on their Trac and their existing extender on your Trac for a trial fit to see what may be wrong.

Maybe the NIB extender was the wrong part on the box.

Check your local dealership for a ST similar to yours with an extender. I'm sure they'll let you "test fit" it.

well, its the ole' "bought it from a guy..." he had the owners manual and i guess it could be the wrong part number etc, that came with the truck to begin with... here in our town (Lawton OK) there are a few S.T. I can try to see if they will fit,, its just irritating... its the 3rd one that I have tried to fit in the truck and none fit and its just irritating.. anyway,, thanks for the input. I was hoping there was more of an issue with them just not fitting etc but,, thats my luck i guess.. thanks again.

So, I called the local Ford dealership, found out my truck was missing the strikers that the extender actually mounts on. Similiar to what the tailgate latches onto, so they were missing, 18 bucks later, all is well, thanks for the input though.
