I finally caved in to common sense and got a bed mat today. I had one in my Ranger but in a Sport Trac with the plastic bed it seemed kinda superfluous. This time of year I'm hauling a load of grass clippings at least twice a week though, and they stick in the channels around the storage compartment doors. I finally got sick of cleaning it out and the bed smelling like dead grass.

Also the bed in my Gen 2 is a lot slicker than the bed in my old Gen 1 and it marks up a lot easier too.

Trail FX bed mat, made in USA. :supercool:

Could be the best $55 I ever spent.

Agreed bed mats rock !!!:banana:

This was my first purchase as well. I have the Ford one. It's very thick, and the ST logo is a nice touch. I would never be w/o one in any truck.

Question is: What took you so long?

Like I said, it seemed kinda superfluous when there the bed is made of plastic. On my old '05 Trac, there was no need. On my '08 the bed is a lot slipperier and grass sticks in around the storage compartment lids.

When they first came out they were 25 bucks.

Once I had one, I would have been willing to spend 100 dollars for it.

Like night and day...

I use my mat out of the '01 I had. Even if it does not fit properly it works GREAT. It is so easy to pull it out when you want to clean. I would not be without it.
