Comcast finally came back online about an hour ago, downloaded some pictures. We didn't suffer any real damage to the house or cars. The water did get pretty high, but didn't make it over the top of the bulkhead. Some big trees went down(one on a house) further inland. Made it through another one OK! Bob

we on e. longisle were spared the brunt of it except coastal areas.

typical tropical storm/very low cat 1 flooding, tree damage, power loss.

hope everyone else is good

We (The USA) have been pretty luck in the big picture. This is the first hurricane to get inland since 2006. I think it caused 21 deaths this time. In at least 5 of those cases the death really was more of the fault of the person as they did not do what they should have.

For example, a 11 yr old boy died and his mother was hurt because she said "I ain't leavin no matter what"... Well,, a tree came through the house and killed the boy and hurt her.

So who's fault was it? In my opinion it was hers as she was told to leave and she refused.

What a shame to lose the life of a child simply because the mother didn't want to do something.

Over-all, 20-ish deaths is a very low number considering the millions of people this hurricane affected.

I am very glad to hear that no one here at the site had any major issue. With that,,, I am assume all are safe as well.

It could have been much worse I think. Mother nature can be a real B!&#h.....

That looks like a pretty desirable water level to me.

Glad everyone (so far reporting) made it through ok.
