Imagine if this had been an Impala or the suck ass Charger. BTW, take my word for it, NOTHING beats a Crwon Vic for Police Service. NOTHING

amazing he survived. I had my chance to drive these cars when I did my skills portion of law enforcement schooling. Had a blast, just upset we only drove them for 2 days. I got up to 40-45 miles in reverse! :driving::fire:

Very impressive. The virtues of rugged construction and body on frame design. And to think that with the increased use of improved steel, the CV could have been stronger and lighter.

Don't know if the passenger would have been so lucky though.

Some might say that Ford's new monocoque cop car, the thing that looks like a Scifi movie prop, might avoid accidents like this with AWD, but the tradeoffs to that car (and method of movement) aren't worth it...

Instead, I think that there should be more driving training, because these ridiculously short skill schools seem to be the norm AFAIK.

Maybe they should sell this as modern art...though I'm sure it'd be looted, like the Drunk Accident demo cars are.

I think that is worst, tree wrap I have seen.

I think I've seen pictures of worse...although the cars probably were not still intact the way that Crown Vic is.

If I'm not mistaken, Dany Heatley crashed his Ferrari into a tree, killing his best friend and team mate, Dan Snyder. Of course Ferraris aren't made to be "Ford Tough," but the car was cut in half.

Being near Atlanta, that was all over the news then....sad story...

Just a couple observations:

(A) He was going awfully fast to be assissting with a foot pursuit,

(B) He was traveling way too fast for "slippery road" conditions

Though there are obvious things to be said for the safety of the car, the officers driving skills need to be addressed.

Good thing he didn't have a partner in the car with him.
