Holy snowblower Batman, the snow is almost reaching the top of the picnic table!! Just when someone said we were having a mild winter. Close to 2 feet now and still coming, backhoe's going to get a workout today. Gary D. in CT

hehe, I got Big Bertha prepped and ready... Over 16 inches, measured in my back yard, and at least 4 more hours of snow... :)

BRING IT !!!!!

I hope it stops soon. We have tickets to the Brooks & Dunn w/ Sugerland concert tonight @ the Mohegan Sun. I'll fire up the blower later this afternoon. Darn wind!!

Dan, lol, you must be young, had enough of this @%*( krap to last the rest of my life! Lorne, that's too bad, hope you get to go to the show. Gary

Gezzzz i feel left out it's like in the 50's here in south florida thinking about having to wear pants today instead of shorts lol

Gary,

I'm just curious, how is everyone handling the snowstorm in the northeast? To the best of my knowledge, President Bush hasn't done anything yet. Not sent in FEMA, the military, or anything! The snowstorm is obviously his fault, so why isn't he doing anything? How can y'all even survive without the Federal government's help?

Andy, here in the northeast , especially new England, if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes. We have had snow like this before and most states are geared up for it. They have a set amount of money set aside for snow removal, salt, sand, and overtime pay. The problem is when there are too many storms and the money runs out.

As far as handling it, we just complain and keep shoveling. We are lucky compared to those who lost loved ones and property from the hurricane season. I don't know if the state will ask for assistance or not, as long as the streets get plowed we will get by. Gary D.

Alright well I now just found out that the restaurant in Vernon, where I work my 2nd job, is going to be open. So I get to look forward to a good hour drive from Middletown just so I can sit there all night because NO ONE in their right mind is going out to eat tonight. Fun is!:wacko::wacko:

Gary,

So what you're saying is that instead of relying on the Federal government to bail them out, your state and local governments actually plan for possible disasters resulting from bad weather. And that the general public doesn't whine and complain with their hands out, they just band together and do what has to be done? And everyone knows that this bad weather and damage are a recurring possiblity every year, so they always have funds set aside and plans in place to handle these situations?

Wow, what a concept!
