02 - 4x2 - purchased used w/ about 9k miles

Warranty fixes

Vacuum hose - caused CEL, but never noticed performance issues

peeling door handles

condensation in the left headlight

'out of round' right rear axel (extended warranty fixed that one)

On our own

shocks, brakes, sway bar, spark plugs, wires, serpentine belt, fuel filter, K&N filter, replaced the cupped ProComp tires that came on it with some Big O's, replaced the Big O's with some fabulous Bridgestone Dueler Revo's

There might have been some other things that I have forgotten. Most of the $$ that we've put into the truck have been cosmetic. I have been amazed at the 'trouble free' miles that my boy has given us. He's got just over 60k on him at this point and is still running strong...knock on wood.

Kimbro!

I saw you or hubby in your boy, the other morning on Stockton Hill Rd on the way to work, Was going to honk but the light changed and I was a vehicle ahead. *just letting you know I was not ignoring ya!* ha ha

2002 bought alittle over a year ago with 40000 miles. Now has 67000 miles with no major problems other than brake caliper work.

Replaced rear door handles twice

Replaced factory battery at 5 years old

Cracking clearcoat on hood and roof

Tranny slip/flair

Replaced ball joints

Condensation in both headlights

Steering shudder at full turn

Rusted bed bolts

2002, 4x4 50,000

Rear door handles

Condensation in one light

Full Front brakes - pads and rotors shot (rusted) at 25K (Ford covered the entire job)

Tail gate lock (would not open)

Some other minor items all covered before 36K warranty expired, senors, etc.

I did recently spot the clearcoat cracking on the hood  What can you do ! Other then that I have no complaints about the ST and the service from Ford for that matter. It is been a pretty solid truck, and I would consider getting another one at some point.

04, 2WD, 4.10, now at almost 26K miles:

Tranny additive recall

Steering wheel vibration (during tight parking)

Leaking rear differential

Rain water in headlamps and corner lights

Mild tranny flair (2-3?)

Warped door seal

Do a search with my name for details.

01 4wd,

Misaligned doors

Fuel pump replaced due to cut out at highway speeds

EGR sensor went after warranty.

03 4wd, POS (I am just posting what I remember) all replaced under warranty

Airbag wiring repaired

peeling steering wheel

holes in leather drivers seat

peeling radio bezel

throttle cable kept coming loose from its clip in the engine bay

transfer case replaced because it was self destructing

driveshaft replaced due to vibe

rear axle seals replaced due to high pitched whine

Upper radiator hose was almost worn through because of tranny dipstick

Thunk and rattle in dash

Bad spark plug within first month of owning it

I can't remember other stuff, there were about 23 parts I had replaced on this thing before I got rid of it. I had to replace the DPFE sensor just out of warranty and I got rid of the damn thing. Even the service advisors at Ford were calling it a lemon.

Im now considering the trade in once the prices bomb on the 05 and earlier STs on the arrival of the 07

With all due respect, if you are worried about loosing money on a trade in, ever considered selling your vehicles and walking? Honestly.

A car is not an investment. It is a mode of transportation that is designed to get you from point A to B.

If you are really that worried about loosing money, you would be better off walking everywhere.

Im not worried about loseing money.... not in the slightest.

I WAS worried about trading it in, and paying more money for a vehicle that has the potential to have the same problem that my currect ST has.

My ST is solid, other than the tranny, and from what im reading I may have found a solution... his name WAYNE FOY ;)

Anyways, ive decided to keep my ST, im not trading it.
