Capitol Hill shooting incident:

I wonder if Diane Feinstein will try to ban all Assault Cars after todays incident?

I believe the police should have tried to flee the scene instead of standing their ground and firing shots at and killing the perp

Well, CNN and the NYT have already tied it to the Government Shutdown!! If it wasn't so predictable it would be unbelievable...no, the only unbelievable thing is that people actually think they are NEWS!!LOL :soap:

We'll likely never know why it happened. They killed her when a vehicle is easily stopped without bullets.

Okay, so she thought Obama was stalking her according to her mother. Since the news networks seem bent on tracing this to government actions, what government actions would cause that kind of anxiety? Not saying she was being "stalked" but I wonder where she got the idea that she was?

Now the news is saying that according to her mother, she was suffering from postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter last August. So it just points to the fact that people with mental issues need to get help and should not be carrying weapons or driving them.

In answer to your question Hugh, how about the NSA program that admitted that it lied about actually foiling ANY terrorist attacks by illegally invading your privacy...In so many words, NSA director Keith Alexander admitted Wednesday that the Obama administration had issued misleading information about terror plots and their foiling to bolster support for the government?s vast surveillance apparatus.

During Wednesday?s hearing, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy pushed Alexander to admit that plot numbers had been fudged in a revealing interchange:

?There is no evidence that [bulk] phone records collection helped to thwart dozens or even several terrorist plots,? said Leahy. The Vermont Democrat then asked the NSA chief to admit that only 13 out of a previously cited 54 cases of foiled plots were genuinely the fruits of the government?s vast dragnet surveillance systems:

?These weren?t all plots, and they weren?t all foiled,? Leahy said, asking Alexander, ?Would you agree with that, yes or no??

?Yes,? replied Alexander.

Proof positive of what many of us have long posited: that under the flimsy guise of a targeted War on Terror, the surveillance state has established itself with little regard for an honest relationship with the American public.

Oh man, People don't want to hear that.... :banghead:

Yep, it's all G W Bush's fault. And when Bush was President, it was all Clinton's fault. And when Clinton was President, it was all G H Bush's fault. And before G H Bush, it was Ronald Reagan's fault. And before Reagan it was Jimmy Carter's fault, then Ford's fault, then Nixon's fault, then Johnson's fault, then Kennedy's fault, then Eisenhower's fault, then Truman's fault, then Roosevelt's fault.........and on an on and on.

Actually, you will never find a speech President Bush made blaming the previous presidents performance, or whining about what he "inherited"....Love or hate him, he was a man who knew the buck stopped with him...because he had actually done something with his life before, ran business, ran a state, flown jet fighters....unlike our current President, who had never run even a popsicle stand before being handed the office...

Steve B,

My point was not that the President himself blamed the previous President, but more like the media, Historians and political parties blaming the predecessors.

He did take responsibility, but even that was a lie, as he had first issued a memo to Admiral.. ..Former U.S. Attorney Michael Mukasey told Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity on Friday night that the Navy SEAL mission to kill Osama bin Laden was preceded by ?a highly lawyered memo? from CIA Director Leon Panetta ? one designed to insulate President Barack Obama if the operation failed.

As Mukasey first suggested in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, the Panetta memo appeared calculated to shift any future blame to Naval Special Operations Commander Adm. Bill McRaven.

?The president had a fallback if this didn?t work out,? Hannity said Friday. ?He had a ?CYA? [Cover Your Ass].? ?There was a memo from Leon Panetta that described the authority that was given to McCraven,? Mukasey explained. ?And it was to proceed according to the risks, only according to the risks that had been outlined to the president. And if he encountered anything else, he had to check back. And you better believe that if anything else had been encountered and the mission had failed, then the blame would have fallen on McCraven. That?s what that?s about.?

Asked by Hannity if the memo ?was designed to protect the president politically,? Mukasey suggested that ?there?s going to be more that comes tumbling out about that escapade. But so far, that memo is enough.?

?One definition of a great leader,? Mukasey added later in the interview, ?is somebody who takes less credit than he should and takes more blame than he should. And that?s not what we?ve got now.?
