A coworker of mine has a Mid 80's Buick Regal. About a week ago, he rear-ended someone in a 2000 Expedition. There was no visible damage to the Expedition, and the bumper on the Regal got turned down a little, and a hole punched through some plastic above the bumper by the trailer hitch on the Expedition. This was a low speed hit (less than 15mph in traffic). The officer on the scene wrote that there was no damage to the Expedition in the report. Today at work my friend gets a call from his insurance company talking to him about a claim filed against him for the accident. Apparently the accident had somehow caused the sunroof in the Expedition to stop working, so the guy in the Expedition wants my friends insurance to pay for it. I think it sounds kind of strange. Is this even possible?? I don't want to see the guy get screwed over (he is just a young guy new to the Navy and doesn't make that much money!)
