Hey everyone... The wife and I picked up her 2005 Sport Trac today, nice looking truck. Ther is ONE drawback, no MP3 playback in the cd player and the wife wants to put her Kenwood CD MP3 deck in it for her. It's silver and a single DIN, so I personally think it'll look like a soar thumb in there, so I want to present her with some affordable options. I've looked at some aftermarket double DIN decks, and in my opinion they all look cheesey except for the touch screen ones, but they are at LEAST 500bux. So, does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe a factory unit with MP3 compatabilities? I dunno, help!! :)

Get a quality installation kit, not one from wal-mart (scoche sp?), I like metra myself, put the kenwood in and it will look better than you think.

Search "Indash NAV" here.

For $399, you get single CD, AM/FM, iPOD and MP3 interface via USB, the CD player will play MP3 files, PLUS a TomTom.

Circuit City will not install it, but I installed mine myself in a couple of hours. Order a Scosche FD1330B kit, I can help you over the phone.

Thanks guys for the input... I'm going to look for a nice adapter plate and see how it looks... Although I have found a factory deck that comes out of a 2007 Escape/Mariner that has the same bracket (2 holes on either side of deck to pull it out) and its an MP3/6CD Changer setup.... (check the link added to the message.. I know the bid is up... but I can get one from a local wreckers) Anywho... let me know if you think the deck will fit, it looks like it to me.

So, I went to the wreckers, and they said the 2007 Escape CD/MP3 player will not work in the SportTrac, becuase it has a theft lock system in it that only works with the Escape/Mariner... so I guess I'm a sitting duck now... ugh

Nate, this is a good sight to see what ford radio's will work in your Sport trac._Ron

You may be able to buy one of the older Pioneer Avic-N* series from ebay if you look. They are touch screen/mp3/nav and fit a single din.
