Check Engine Light

The Check Engine light just came on today and the ODII tester said is was the EGR system. I was wondering how many of you have had this issue. I had my neighbor clear the error, but the Check Light came back back on this evening. It shoudn't be to complicated to replace. Can I remove and clean...anyone know?

Just had this happen to me. Yes its a common problem. Mine was the $50 sensor, done under warranty. Sounds like it is an easy do it yourself fix though, do a search there are good posts here with lots of pictures. I would have attampted it myself had I not had warranty. Marsha

Just saying that the code refers to something doesn't help. Give us the exact code you got.

As Caymen points out, don't replace anything until you give us the actual code number.



However, in this case from experience via this site, your going to need to replace the sensor, NOT the EGR.
