Clear Coat damage

I have some dull clear coat areas where the clear coat is damaged but the paint underneath is not. I think one of hte kinds did me a favor and used some rubbing compound when they washed and waked the vehicle. Does anyone know how to improve the look of these areas (other than body shop paint and re-clearcoat)?

You could try just rewaxing the areas.

Clay it first!! Then try waxing.
