My dealership just got in some comparision material for sales and had an interesting note I figure I'd share. The Sport Trac leads the compact pick-up segment as far as fewest complaints per 100 vehicles. The ST has 105 complaints per 100 vehicles with the Ranger following with 111 complaints per 100 vehicles. The rest of the competitors have far more complaints most registering the 125-150 mark. Just figure I'd let everyone know.

MK ..... The "other" Mark

P.S. This was for the 2005 model year.

I traded in a Hyundai Santa Fe w/ 60,000 miles on it for my ST. Now I love my ST and appearence and just overall in general it seems like a better vehicle but I think you know where I am going with this. My Santa Fe never had even a sqeak let alone a rattle. Ice cold A/C for ever. Free oil changes for two years. 100,000 mile warranty. Ran thru deep water and needed a new alternator no questions asked. Friend drove and warped a set of rotors no questions asked. I like my ST because it is American and it is a truck and I feel like I am driving something substantial. People made fun of my Hyundai but there is no denying the fact that those foreign car makers are doing something right.

Hyundai? Did someone say Hyundai? Here's my new baby...

I drove a 12 year old Hyundai Sonata while I lived in Korea. I was shocked that all the power doors and windows were still working when I bought it. I have seen much newer American cars where the windows either didn't work or they would make a horrible scraping sound.

Mechanically, it was in excellent condition and drove smooth as glass on the highway. I was impressed by that car, especially in the Winter. We had one cold spell that disabled nearly every vehicle on base (even the new Chevy Impala cop cars). My old Sonata was the only vehicle in our shop that started for three days, so it became our only transportation.
