Also.. you can try resetting the router. There is a push-button on the back of the router that you can push in with a pen. With the unit unplugged from power, push on that button, plug the power in, and then release the button after it powers up. That should clear it out. (You may have to hold it in for a few secs)

All cables have been checked out and are good. When pluged in to any of the four ports (not the uplink port) there is no continuous green light such as seen with a good link. As noted above, the only light activity is that of a flashing lights. I really do believe that this is a configuration issue with the computer, and not an issue with the router (already tried a second one with the same results) or cables (they all check out as well.

I can now see the router by changing to 10 full duplex mode vs. auto mode. I have the internet connection set to "obtain address automatically", and the network is a DHCP setup. Still not able to connect to the web however.

I can see the router but nothing past. I'm afraid at this point we're going to have to call it a lost cause. Steaks coming up shortly and we're out of town heading home tomorrow. Thanks so much to all that have attempted to assist. The only way the router was being seen was if it were put in 10 Full Duplex Mode but it wouldn't allow me to see anything past. No ports blocked after full 30 second reset. I hate giving up on things like this.

Your DSL modem may have NAT transversal on. When it is setup that way, the router is NATing and the modem is NATing (network address translation). Then, it won't work. Either the NAT needs to be turned off on the router, or on the modem. You'd have to be able to get into the modem (often done with a web browser to the router IP address, which was 63.168.250.1.) You said it was a wireless connection - is it a modem that you are hooked up to or a transmitter?

Also.. when you have the router hooked up to the pc, and you can get into the router - check the status. What IP address is the router getting?

So, when the modem is hooked to the router - it's hooked up through the WAN port, right? Is the light for WAN on the router, and the light on the modem for the line, lit?

Sounds like your DSL modem/service has registered the PC's NIC card MAC address.

Try this:

Physical connection: DSL modem connected to the router's WAN port, and your PC connected to one of the available ethernet ports.

In the Linksys web browser configuration go to Advanced tab, there should be a tab for MAC Address Clone. In this section put down the PC's NIC card MAC address. From the output of your ipconfig above it should be : 00-08-02-F3-F3-48.

Save the settings and now see if you can hit the internet on your PC.

Good luck!

Tabjo has a great suggestion. Or, one of my clients offers wireless service and he uses Breezecom wireless receivers. With his equipment, I have to disconnect the receiver for about a minute, then reconnect it, and it recognizes the new MAC address.

Tabjo, the MAC settings are as you have noted. At this point the ball is in his court to get the router working. Thanks again to all for their assistance.
