So it looks like the cost to repair it is only one day's profit for them.

To stick it to their customers, they would have to charge more for gasoline than their competitors, which would not work very well. The would open themselves up to price goughing charges and people would buy gas elswhere.



The only way the can get out of paying is to get the government to pay for the repairs. The governement is just dumb enough to fall for that if they want the pipeline opend fast!



I think the government should make them pay for all the repairs and fine them a couple of Billion $$ just to be sure they don't let it happen again! I think the government should hire men to monitor the BP operations in Alaska to insure that BP is not taking any shortcuts to save money, and have them pay for the inspectors to be onsite.
