Since the 07 explorers and ST have the same interior I can b*tch here, lol

The chrome accent that goes along the dash behind the steering wheel blinds me on sunny days, lol

I sit just right with the steering wheel just right so it reflects the sun right into my eyes... The shifter sometimes does the same thing!! I was thinking of putting a piece of tape on the one part that reflects, lol

I cant bring my self to paint it black, lol

I was thinking like, bare with me, a small piece of scotch tape like 2-3 inches long on the trim where it reflects....

Some of that invisible tape would probably do the trick. I'd only be worried that over time, it'd become nigh on impossible to remove without damaging the chrome finish...the tape would have to be scraped off I would think.

A flat clear coat like Paul suggested is about the same idea, just more permanent. Who knows, the chrome may look better with a dull patina.

How about instead of Tape.

Use Window Tint.

this way it looks good and is removable.

and I know you can also get tint in colors. to match either youor paint or other acents.
