It is not difficult. Once you get the cluster out, just take out the screws holding on the backing. Then twist out the bulb. The only problem is that I don't know where you will be able to find a replacement bulb. I've never seen one at a autoparts store.
is there a light per se on the headlight switch on an 02?? mine is totally dark around the switch and the indicator above the switch. what's involved in getting it to work if its just a bulb???
There is a bulb on the switch, although they're very prone to burning out. I'll be posting a project on how to convert it to an LED very shortly, I'm working on writing it up right now.
The gas light indicator should be a standard 194 bulb, most all of the dash lights are. You reuse the plastic housing that screw in though.
