There are MANY high quality 8.8 differential covers available. I'm using the Moser 8108 made by T/A. Just be aware there are many non USA knockoffs that appear to be genuine but are of very poor quality.

Also be aware most aftermarket covers that have fill holes are much higher than the fill on the front of the axle. Fill to the factory axle location on level ground otherwise you will be over filled.

My one mistake of my cover, was. I bought a cover that did not have the carrier bearing support bolts
I had a brain fart, when I saved $50.

I would go with a TA or one that has the carrier bearing cap supports.
I wish I had done that with mine. When I installed my richmond mechanical in my open gear. I didnt realize, the only time it unlocks on corners. Is when you do not accelerate at all. Too much throttle and it locks and the inside tire skips. Im sure that is putting a load on the bearing caps.
Richmond gear said, that it was normal. I should have went with the cheaper Aussie unit. Or the Motorcraft LS unit. And paid a shop to install and reset the ring and pinion.

Get one that actually does something....
