Entry level Harley is less than $8k, in fact, there isn't one HD production model thats anywhere near $30k

Also, I'm not fat and not old and I ride one.

Quit stereotyping and think before you say things totally out of your league.

wouldn't call that illegal..I can't see what would be illegal about it.

Oh, I dunno, maybe the fact that you are stealing and defacing two McDonald's serving trays, and then vandalizing the parking lot by embedding ground up McDonald's tray tracks all over the place.

Which I address with:

Stereotypes prevail over time because they are true.

Of course not everyone who rides fits the stereotype, just as there are smart & intelligent blondes.

That said, there are many who DO match the stereotype. I happen to reside near a local bar which has large motorcycle gatherings monthly, and all of the guys who come in on harleys are leather clad, and obese. There are even tricycles, and I see them on the road many times outside and away from gatherings.

There are some yuppies thrown in the mix, sure. The guy wearing the bright t-shirt or even polo (gasp) on the harley stands out. But a "sons of anarchy" esque harley rider who isn't obese..if extant..must be blocked out by the hordes of stereotypical harley riders.

think before you say things totally out of your league.

Life wouldn't be interesting if I always "thought" before I spoke. I think this advice goes both ways, as you think because you are an exception that the stereotype does not hold. From a statistical standpoint, if the vast majority of harley riders are fat, then they are all considered to be.

Do you realize that a Roush stage 3 ( like mine) will pull one G on a skid pad.

They make terrific trac cars. with not alot of mods.

I am fuly aware of that. A Mustang can be a very successful race car, but a bone stock GT will need some help.

TJR, are pieces of trays any more severe than the trash and other crap that people litter lots with?

Vandalism (and its relations) are the lowest form of crime, but considering what is done to a parking lot already, I hesitate to call it true vandalism.

I have no love of mcdonalds, and people walk out with trays all the time (around here, to those sensitive to stereotypes lol) but I can still see the point there, so one could simply purchase 2 similar trays. Though I'm sure that mickeyd's considers lost trays to be like irrecoverable debt to banks--simply a cost of doing business.

EDIT:

Do you realize that a Roush stage 3 ( like mine) will pull one G on a skid pad They make terrific trac cars. with not alot of mods.

A roush stage 3 is already uber-modded though, and a far cry from anything that I could probably consider affordable, or stock. From what I've gathered, le Roush is to a stock ride as nascar rides are to what is in the dealership.

Though I don't doubt that while maintaining affordability (I like arms 'n legs) a mustang could be made to handle superbly.

wow,

just back from the sunshine state and there is tom again acknowledging that i have a far superior vehicle then anyone in the world

another blind shot on a post

well we all know tom is an expert with all types of vehicles, a sport trac and an escort without a roof!!

if he really had any knowledge he would know the 88 vette i own in today's standards is average in performance. a low 14 second 1/4 mile with 245 hp. at the time it was very good. yes it is a somewhat rare 35th anniv edition of only 2,050 made. his comment about the mustang aftermarket parts that bring it beyond the vette's handling, again his ignorance shows as it would take a hell a alot of money to do this to even come near close. with the exception of the one or two fingers on my hand, no other mustang will come close.

tom, for years you having been telling us about the 13 second escort you are building. now you are thinking about a mustang. please do it and stop dreaming. there is a difference between blowing smoke up our butts and doing it.

kl,

can you elaborate on the trailer park comment?

I'm not sure I get the point. So, since some litter in the parking lots its not vandalism if someone else grinds on the parking lot surface?

With that logic, if someone picks your pocket there's no harm in someone else also stealing your watch. ;)

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Oh, and the McDonald's in my neighborhood (my son has worked in both of the nearest) have very clean parking lots. The employees clean up the odd piece of litter when it lays there.

So, maybe my bias is towards a pristine parking lot where no level of vandalism is tolerated.

Purpose built stangs, such as roush St3s, P51as, even the 427 Rs, will run circles around non ZO6 vettes, all day for the same money.

Am sure you love your vette, but that car could not hold a candle to an S197 G.T stang. on any sort of track,OEM bone stock.

Do your reaserch

Look at the 0/60 times, look at the stopping 100/0 times, look at the skid pad numbers.

Bill you sure its only one g? i wouldn't be much surprised if it did a little better than that. The 2010 GT will pull .95 g

In 06 Mine was rated at 1 G by the published specs at the time.

have taken 3 track courses, two at thunderhill, one at infinion, am a total novice, am afraid of the car.

You always drive with an instructor, they get pissed at me because I doddol along at 110, 115, take the turns, no problem.

they say run the car up to 140, will be no problem, not me man.

They drive my car at 140 and it is like they are driving on Velcro, are alot younger than me, they no how to drive, i do not.

Have had my car up to 140 in Nevada via GPS, the diff between 110 and 140 is HUGH, almost to the point that you need your depends:lol:

TJR,

I was being mildly facetious in my post, but vandalizing the parking lot by actually driving on it seems to me a better fate than the people who leave their litter on it, drop cigarette butts, tip trash cans, change their oil & leave puddles (or just have poorly maintained cars). I guess I'm going for the "crime is going to happen, so let's minimize it" approach, though I don't truly identify with that standpoint in general, and again, was being facetious. Someday I'll learn that text doesn't work with that.

TJR, sadly, our McDonalds' don't have pristine parking lots. Though why would anyone slide a fwd around on Mickey D's trays right outside the franchise? I'm confused.

Gary S., your corvette has that ancient looking 80s sports car look, and that shape and styling and paint look like all of the cars I see at local trailer parks. There's even a car that has the same shape as yours for sale on the side of the road. Is it the same thing as yours? Ridiculously unlikely. Is it also a corvette? Dunno, all one can see whilst driving is the side of it. Does it have similar paint and shape? Yes.

Also, it's being sold within walking distance of a trailer park lol.

If I remember next time I'm around a trailer park, I'll drive through it and see if I see any cars similar to yours. Most of the ones here have speed bumps designed to wreak havoc on suspension though, so I don't solicit them much...tis too bad, as they form nice short cuts between major highways and backroad-laden neighborhoods.

I been I've been 135 in a toyota celica.

Downhill? Everything goes fast downhill :D

No, on a flat highway

Well, that's more impressive then. That could almost go faster than the stock police Crown Victoria...135 is far faster than I figured that little toy could go.

Though I thought that Bill was saying that his mustang was going 140 on a circular track...which is impressive as well, though moreso imo.
