Lately I find my driver door unlocked. At first it was at home. So I started making a point checking the lock, before I walk away. So I still find it unlocked.

So since this has been happening at home. I have made the same point of checking the locked door, at the store etc. As of this week I have found it unlocked at several places away from home.

It is not happening from crooks or burglers. Nothing is missing. I dont know much about the electric auto lock module. So I there some way it has become defective? It has happened at least 10 times this month. Since I have made a point of checking the door. Before I started checking I thought maybe CRS @ my age was kicking in,LOL. I look at the lock pin and check the door both. Mystery, when I come back and find it unlocked..

Idea's?????????

Check to make sure the plastic lock cap is screwed down. I have seen when it is not all the way down it gets stuck on the plastic trim around the lock hole. I'm talking about the plastic at the top of the lock where it comes up through the door.

Eddie- I had the opposite issue with the door locking itself. Tried adding springs and lock rod adjustments without success. Resolution was replacing the door latch assembly.

Eddie, I had door lock problems on my '02. A new battery fixed it, truck battery not remote battery.

Ed,

Trac battery 6months old.

I think I will try carrying my spare remote. De-energize this one.

At first I thought it might be the new neighbors. They have a ford. Then it started happening away from home.

Im wondering if the module can go bad and allow other freqencies, to activate it.

Odd must have been a gen1 gremlin. Hasnt' done it lately.....

Maybe it was CRS.......:bwahaha:

The only Gremlin I ever liked. '73 X with 304V8, 500cfm holley, headers/w duels, accell ignition.

Was clocked by a Dodge R/T at 143mph. Ran low 14's.
