Drive Train Noise

Just purchased a really sweet ST XLT from a Richmond, KY dealer. I have one question, there is a noise coming from under the truck, directly under the front seats. It's not a loud sound and it fades out with higher speed. It's a seperate noise from the Wrangler tire tread. Is this noise typical of a 4x4 ST? I looked under the truck and there sure is a lot going on under it with all it's shafts and gearboxes.

I had been hearing a noise from under our 4x2 for quite some time. It sounded like a rattle, and thought it was just some thing loose. Well I was right, sorta, when we were on our way down to Disneyland we lost power and could barely move under our own power. Turned out to be the Catylitic Converters, and after they were replaced (not cheap, btw) everything was back to normal sounding underneath. So the bottom line is to have your cats checked.

Check your transfer case lube and U-joints too. My 4x4 fords have made no more noise than the 2WD Fords. Sounds like something is amiss.
