I've read a couple of postings about the drivers door lock being inop. and that it's probably a assembly or armature connection rivet within the door panel.

My problem is the drivers side door lock. It does open remotely however does not lock remotely, it must be manually engaged to lock. All other doors operate with no problems.

My question is to remove the door panel, is there anything other than removing the screws? (ie: any snap locks that must be disengaged or the like?) And if I don't have a riveter is there another way to reconnect the assembly, if that's my problem. OH...I do hear something swinging or ratteling within the panel when I swing the door back & forth.

Looking forward to some guidance please.

Thank You

There are the typical plastic panel retainers that are best foiled with a tool (so they don't break).

I have read where some have used a small bolt and Nylock nut for the actuator.

Also, once everything is loose, the panel needs to go up before coming out as there are tabs the slid into the area of the window slot near the top of the panel.

I'm having the same problem. The lock button moves a little, but won't go down. Let me know how your's works out. I'm thinking about switching the lock solenoid with another door to get another couple of years out of it.

Our '02 started doing the same thing on the passenger side door last weekend. I plan to take the inside door panel off this weekend and see what the problem is.

I'm guessing that it won't be anything too serious as the actuator still seems to work. It will still move enough to unlock, but just won't relock itself.

I'll keep you guys posted with the results.

It sounds like you have the same problem. I would reiterate the part about the panel has to be lifted up before it is pulled out -- I broke the retaining hooks on mine.

Rocks
