It's about $300 shipped. So yes, it would take awhile to recoop the investment, especially due to the lower mpg. The EPA hasn't approved sales in the US... therefore you need to buy from overseas. Just like buying Cialis without a prescription. :)

If you don't mind wading through the countless "will my 19xx vehicle run on E85" posts, here's an interesting thread that discussed E85 and the affects on the gasoline engine...

The E85 depending on the blend can be run in ANY vehicle.. here in NY they run a 10% mix at every pump. If the car has NO aluminum parts in the fuel system, you can run the e85. THE only issue is the programing in the cars computer, if it can compensates for it.. MOST can not, but some can.... AND that can be changed..

My friend here on LI is starting plans to carry and sell E85 and Bio-diesel. I will be running the e85 shortly..

Bill, correct, but people who say that only special cars can run on an ethanol blend are wrong.

It just depends on the mix as you stated above..

E85 denotes 85% Ethanol right in the name! Many states run E10 (10%) in the winter for smog reasons.

Stock Ford vehicles can compensate up to 30% in their fueling algorythms. E85 WILL NOT run in ANY vehicle. Do not try it unless you really want a new crate motor! This system looks interesting, but I found a MAJOR flaw...

I don't see a wideband O2 sensor in the diagram. It looks like all this does in take in the pulses from the Ford ECU and send out a bigger pulse to the injector. Not good. You flip a switch to tell it that you are running E85... What if it is E65 or 100% Ethanol?? This controller woould have NO idea... And bad things happen then. Steer clear unless it has a wideband O2 sensor on it!!

In addition to "normal" fule lines being aluminum (and caustic in presence of alcohol) you would need to change all of the O-ring seals too!
