I just did this. Mine has 145K on it and I continually got the 401 code when the temp outside is under 85 degrees. I got a new OEM EGR valve from Amazon - I didn't want to chance a cheap aftermarket part, I've read they aren't as reliable as the OEM and I didn't want to do this job twice. A "while you're in there" list would be to change your air filter if it is old and also clean up the throttle body. I had a hard time unscrewing the pipe from the valve. I used a turbo torch on the EGR valve where the pipe goes in but the fuel line is right behind it so I needed to cover it and be very careful - if I were to do it again I'd probably run the engine up to temp and then unscrew it while things are hot. The two bolts holding the valve on were also a pain but I finally got it. When I was done I still had the light. I shut it off with my code reader and it has not been on since.
