Well, Im kinda hung up on getting the supercharger for my ST, since I dont know of anywhere here in Canada that i'd trust to set that sucker up.

I do however know of people with an automotive machine shop, and im considering asking them what they can do to the engine itself to make it push more HP...

I dont know much about engines really. I know I want one thats powerfull, lol.... Anyways... Is there any mods, that I can do internally to the egine that can give me the HP I can acquire from a supercharger?

Basic bolt-ons or head over to a mustang site and see what they're doing to the new 4.0's to give'em more go. I'm sure they're experimenting more than we are. Moreover, the trac really isn't the vehicle for you if you want one thats powerfull, lol.... . There's plenty of potential but for the most part it's unchartered territory.

Basic bolt-ons include under-drive pulley (~16% under-drive), Exhaust (Not engine but will help) including Cat-back, Y-pipe, and hi-flow cat, modded throttle-body (a la, ToddZ) and new air intake (mac, k&n etc.).

Simply put, no.

The long story, possibly. Sure a large cam, high compression pistons, ported and polished heads/manifolds (Though impossible with a plastic intake manifold), etc will net more power then stock, but nothing close for the bang vs. buck you will get from a supercharger.

Something else to consider. Nitrous. I halped a buddy install a 75 HP shot of nitrous on his 130 HP Ford ZX2. It was wicked fast. It was as fast as a C3 Corvette. I swear to it on my life.

We installed the wet kit, which is pretty straight foreward and simple to do.

I know another guy that took his 1.8L Escort GT engine and did the complete "Gude package". Gude manufacturers performance parts for the Sport Compact Scene. With a 5 angle valve job, ported and polished head, performance cams, high compression pistons, high flow fuel injectors, ECU remapping, etc. he gained 25 HP at the wheels. So, the Escort GT's engine is about 107 HP at the wheels from about 127 at the flywheel. Compare that to the power a simple GTX or GTR engine swap would be at 180 and 210 HP, respectivly. (Or GTX at 154 HP at the wheels or GTR with 176 HP at the wheels)

Hrmmm...

I think Ill have to pick 23ballistics brain for a bit about the 302 he's putting in.

Its not an option to change the vehicle. I want the ST to be fast... If I wanted easy fast, id go get myself a mustang ;)

To tell you the truth im happy with the ST AFTER first gear... I guess I need more torque.... Im just baffled on how to get there.

Question for everyone.

If I think I may go S/C later on, like next year. Should I get header now or at all?

Thanks
