You have the ability to input the MAC address in the Router also so that is no longer an issue.



I will look at a High Gain Antenna and see if this might work.

Actually, in my case, I can see my router around the bend without any trouble anytime I've checked it... rain, snow or shine!



Not true! If the cable company restricts access by the MAC address, you can put all the routers you want on it and it will not work.



If the router can "clone" the MAC address of another internally used card on a computer, you can "hide" 253 other devices behind that MAC address. The beauty of routers with firewalls is that hackers cannot get in (unless they crack your password) and neither can the cable company. It's a dead end from the outside. It still only looks like (1) device is on the line. A website will not probe the MAC address. If it does, it will only see that of the router.
