Hi All, new to the site, and my ST.

I'm trying to get an EZPass toll tag for it. Anyone using EZPass know if ST needs an external tag?

Thanks :)

:DWelcome fellow silver ST and New Englander!!!! :D Oh, don't use the highway/turnpike that much, so I don't know about the EZpass.[Broken External Image]:

Welcome aboard...

Fed employee here. I have to go to several Airports. I have an EZ-pass bypass. Mounted inside lower left dash. Opens every gate I go to so far...

I had mine on the inside, but stopped using it because they can track how long it took you to drive, and give you a ticket.

The same for me, inside on windshield. At a friend's house today, I noticed an EZpass mounted on the front of his licsense plate. It was about 9/10 in. long and an inch square. It looked easy for someone to steal.

Thanks all for welcomes and the fast responses!! :) BTW, here's my ST, haven't done anything to it other that an EZ Lift (very easy to install and great upgrade for the factory tonneau).

GccST, yeah, where did you hear that about using the EzPass records to give you a ticket? I actually used my records when FIGHTING a speeding ticket once. Got the speed of the violation reduced. Dunno if it was the EzPass evidence or not, but what the hey.

Inside, above rear view mirror here.

GccST, I wouldn't worry about them tracking you with the EZPass. They are no doubt watching you with a satellite all the time anyway.

I would think you'd have problems with a vertical windshield like in a Jeep Wrangler or a Scion xB. The ST should work fine with PikePass, EZPass, etc.

I use my EZPass 8 times a day (4 to work, 4 on the way home). Inside the windshield just behind the mirror (out of sight unless I look for it) works just fine. Besides, they had my license plate wrong and sent me a series of tickets for various times I passed through and the tag didn't take. I straightened the license plate out, and haven't seen a ticket since. If the tag doesn't take, and they look at the photo of your truck for the plate, they will run it through their database first to see if you have a valid tag, and apply the toll to your account. If you get too many, they will contact you to get a new tag.

I figure it takes me $7 a day for tolls, but it's either that and a 45-60 min. drive each way, or free and 2 hours each way. My time with my family is worth more than that.

Wow dreman, your turnpikes are expensive there. I pay 45 cents each way on the Kilpatrick turnpike from my home to work. Okla Turnpike Authority e-mails me a PDF file each month with a detailed list of transactions on each of my 4 PikePass devices.

It's too bad the states don't work together and use universal readers/pikepasses so we all could use turnpikes in other states.

What I can't figure out is why the locals here don't all have PikePasses. They cost nothing, and save you the time/aggravation of throwing quarters into a booth basket. With PikePass, I zoom through the tollbooth at 70mph.

Never underestimate the power of your local toll-takers union.

Here in Illinois they have the I-Pass (which works fine in my window, but doesn't work in my Pontiac's window with the UV film). If you don't have an I-Pass, the toll is DOUBLE. Makes sense to spend the $10 for the transponder to save money on the tolls, in addition to the convenience.

Double? wow... we get about a 5-10% discount by using Pikepass, along with a 'frequent users' discount on the monthly bill. I usually spend around $20 to $25 a month on tolls. Figure it's worth it in time saved, and longer life out of the brake pads.

I love the idiots who fly past me doing better n 80mph on the turnpike, only to have to come to a dead stop at the toll booth. I usually smile and wave as I cruise through the PikePass lane at 70mph. :)

The toll booths here on the Sam Houston Tollway are $1.25 if you pay with quarters, or $1.00 if you pay with your EZPass. Usually it works pretty well, and I can make the 45 mile trip to work in about 45 minutes. Sometimes, though, it can become a huge parking lot for no particular reason. Usually it's worth it, though.
