Factory Wiring

Anyone have a pioneer 510 watt system? I am going to try and install a Kenwood DDX 6019. They Tech's @ Crutchfield are telling me that I wont be able just use a wiring harness for installation! The say that all the speakers are powered by the amp. I will have to rewire everything. Any comments???

I had posted to this and looked up the unit and it does say that the unit will not fit in a ST on crutchfield.com. so I was wrong. thus the change. I thought it was just a regular player. Sorry.

What are you talking about? Any info on the wiring harness?

Jonathan, I had wrote that it should work since the "amps" used I thought were on the back of the Head Unit. The other amp is for the sub. When changing out HU's the aftermarket one doesn't have the right connections to get the sub to work. Thus having to hard wire the sub in. When I looked up the unit you want to put in crutchfield says it won't work in a ST. Why, I'm not sure. The thing to do is take the old one out, look at the connections and maybe get one of the quick connect harnesses that are out there and try to piece all the powers and speakers and such and see if the new unit works. Or take it somewhere and see if they can "hardwire" it in.
