Tyo is definitely not a very common name, outside of my family I haven't ran into very many others with the name. I used to have a link to a Tyo family website, but it appears it is down now. I was able to trace the name all the way back to it's origins in France, your mother-n-law is correct the original surname is Taillone. There are many Tyo's in the northern US and Canada because of the trail when the ancestors first immigrated from Europe.

If your wife or mother/father-n-law have any historical information on the name I would be very interested.

Hey... Good to hear from you. My motherinlaw has been doing a genolgy search for many years, on the Tyo name. They probably would be glad to hear from you. I bet she can run the tree for you, and find out where you fit in. Plus you may have some pieces of the tree, she needs.

They are on the road now. Headed from Canada to Boston. They have 5th wheel RV and have been traveling, since retirment in '91. They stay here in the Houston area from November till March or April (winter).

I will get in touch with them by email if you wish. However you want to do it, yall can exchange info. I should be able to call them on their cell even, in a few days. I do intend to let them know about you.

My email in my profile is active. We can use that to get this set up...
