My wife has decided to buy me my rims/tires for Father's day. (MB Predators with Michelin LTX M/S ) My current Stock alloys & Goodyear Wranglers are still 80% good. My spare is a steel rim under the truck. Would it wise to replace the spare with a custom rim & tire or should I leave the stock steel rim and save the money?

Thanx All.

I agree, why spend the extra on a rim that will never see the light of day. My Dakota came with 5 Magnesium Centerline rims which I found out the day I sold the truck (I never looked). Another good point for keeping the steel rim in case something should hit under there could mess up that rim.

So since I do go on road trips, I will just buy 4 rims...but 5 tires. Just in case of late night highway flats.

Thanx

Hey Cabrera, can I get your wife to call my wife? All I am getting (already got) was 3 Calvin and Hobbes collection.

Not that they aren't great, but new rims would be better!

Wonder how much of a price differential there is?:p

naw, she wont buy that!

They look great, and send pics when you have them installed!

They have been ordered and will be here Monday. Total out of pocket $1,150.00. With road hazard warranty, mounted, balanced, shipped & ready to bolt on locks & lugs included!

For Fathers day my wife let me buy a new Sport Trac. I had an 01 but always liked the new ones and she let me go get one. Sweet.......:)

Kevin...DUDE!

NEVER say "my wife let me..." to ANYTHING!

We know we all have to get permission (or hear the never ending symphony of Nag-toveen) but you don't have to admit it! IN PRINT???

DUDE!

Just bustin' em, were all in the same boat ;)

You win, your new trac beats my rims!

Good luck with the new Trac!

Yes I stayed with the OEM 255/70 16s

They had a lot of options for rims & tires styles & sizes but the OEM size worked well. Not only for look but for price.

The whole setup including lugs, locks, road hazard, mounting balancing was $1,220.00.

I got 4 wheels & 5 tires. ( free shipping UPS $50 online discount )

There is also a $70 rebate on the tires from Michelin so that drops the out of pocket cost to $1.150.00.

I bought the whole setup at Discount Tire Direct. If you look into it call Pat at 1 800-589-6789 X51878. He gave me additional discount like including the chrome valve stems & wheel balancing at no charge. He knew exactly what needed to be done!
