Finally got a new computer

I am so happy to be an owner of a newer awesome computer.



old:

hp pavilion with one Intel Pentium 4 1.8 GHZ, 1.50 GB of ram, Windows XP service pack 3



new:

hp pavilion with eight Intel i7 3.4 GHZ, 12 GB of RAM, Windows 7, 64 bit



The old computer I purchased new in 2001. So it lasted 11 years, but it is still strong, just not as fast. Difference in speed from completely off to able to use the mouse and open programs.



old: 5 minutes :cry:

new: 13 seconds :bwahaha:

I have an HP/Compaq dx2400 Pentium Dual Core, 2 Ghz, with 3 GB RAM. It's about 3-4 years old and still runs OK, but I have noticed it slowing down and it's trying my patience..:angry:



It is still tolerable, but I am slowly changing my mind and wanting to upgrade to something more in the 3 Ghz + speed range with 6-8 GB of RAM. Perhaps in the next 6 months I will look to upgrade? Sounds like that might be a great Christmas present to myself..:grin:
