New headers with gaskets and mounting bolts. They are the "shorty" tuned length, chrome plated model. New in box, may have a few minor scratches from trying to install. $319.00 from BBk + shipping. My price: $300 and I'll pay the shipping. Bob

Bob, I have a freind in the HPD. He keeps talking about upgrades to his '07 stang.

Question, will he need a tuner for headers on an '07 stang? He found out It is needed for intake upgrades. He is looking towards Steeda for that.

Also you say tuned length shorty. Meaning eqaul length shorties? What is the tube size?

Eddie, Yes, the tubes are all the same length. So they look a bit like twisted snakes, but provide an equal flow between the tubes. They end at about the same location as the stock manifolds. The tubes are 1 5/8" with a 2 1/2 opening at the collector. If using the stock exhaust system, I'm not sure about a tuner, SCT is probably the best to get the most out of the motor. I would guess a re-tune may not be needed for this.(at least what I saw on the BBK website) Have him call me. Bob

With the S197 Mustangs (both V6 and V8), a new tune is needed for most aftermarket cold air intakes. The few exceptions are the BBK and K&N intakes.

However, a new tune is not not necessary when installing aftermarket exhaust components like shorty headers, mufflers, etc.

Bob and TT,

Thanks for the info. I will let him know.

He has the stock cat pipe as of now.

All he has done so far. Is put a pair of pypes mufflers, and a better shifter on it.

He was going to get a TB, thru Todd. An intake and tuner from Steeda, last year.

He bought a house and got married. So he has been playing catch up.

His mom lives next door. About a month ago. He told me he is about ready. To spend some $$ on his 'stang.

He is mid 20s'.He grew up with a single mom. So I had to show him how to do an oil change, and other service. He really wants to learn. Not afraid of getting greasy.

Im kinda his, go to guy. He is a cop that loves performance. Just needs someone to steer and guide him.

Maybe he can help me. If I get a ticket in Houston...LOL

Eddie,

Sounds like you've found a good "gearhead" buddy whom you can mentor and with whom you can share your knowledge and experience about car stuff. From the way you've described his enthusiasm for the hobby, I'm sure fun times are ahead for you both!

TT,

Yup, when he first moved in with his mom, next door. I still had my 'stang.

When we met and had some talks. He realized I was a gearhead and wanted to get something to build on. So he bought an '07 GT. I gave him some of my performance mags. He dug in, and we talked about where to start first. His first $$ set back was upgrading his moms' central AC.

He still wants to do it though. Not sure why he hasnt called me back. I need to catch his mom at home. Single mom, always gone..LOL

Single mom,

Aren't you single too, Eddie?

Sorry, :back2topic:

TT,

Yep single, but. She has a boyfreind. Not much to look at. A heavy beer drinker. Her '09 truck has 10yrs of beer dings already...LOL..She is a good nieghbor though.

I gave up the the alcohol and drugs. 24yrs ago this coming 2/22/12.

Sorry for the hijack Bob.

I left him another message today. Last time I talked with him. He was shoping for a cat H-pipe. I talked him into a cat X-pipe. Dont know if he has yet. Your headers will complement his whole exhaust.
