Has anyone with a 2009,2010 ST XLT that came with the factory stock single cd stereo, with satellite and sync put a Ford OEM Navagation Unit in? Either they did it themselves or had the Ford Dealership do the install....I have a 2010 ST XLT with the stock single cd/satellite/sync and I would like to upgrade it to the Ford OEM Navagation....Any thoughts or Ideas?? Thank You...Mike

It can easily be done but the real trick is finding someone with a ford scan tool that can reconfigure the vehicle so it all works.

No matter who the hardware OEM is, you're a slave to the software. My '07 uses NAVTEQ software, which hasn't issued an update since early '08. I've had to purchase a separate "steal me" nav box to be able to see where I am in several places where there is ongoing new construction. I get a year of free updates, and the product's maker has a good reputation so confidence is high that they'll provide paid updates long after that.

After 20 years of dealing with Micro$oft in the IT world, I have zero confidence that they'll support Sync hardware for long.

NAVTEQ does have a new update out. Check their site. Or be like me and wait for the torrent file.

They do? About freaking time!

I'll check their site. I can afford a $200 DVD, and since I write software I prefer to give the IP owner their due. Thanks for the heads-up!!!
